I am, Dorothy “Sissy” M. Byrd and I am the best candidate for El Paso County Commissioner Precinct 4. Due to coronavirus 19, I am reaching out to the residences of the Northeast by letters, emails, text, and phone calls. We need for all our citizens to be safe so that our numbers will go down, so we can start our new normal. I hope that you understand and know that I am waiting to meet and serve you. I am devoted to the people of the Northeast and El Paso. After years of living and the experiences of volunteering in El Paso and the surrounding communities I have strived to make positive changes in the lives of women, families, seniors, and young people. My intense dedication, passion, and devotion is what fuels my fight for what is right, changes for veterans, help the homeless, make positive progress for accessibility for the disabled and to continue growth of the Northeast and El Paso. I will tackle the problems and fight to make changes for the betterment for the Northeast and all El Paso. Please join my team now to help me to break the ceiling by giving me a seat at the table of El Paso County Commissioners Court representing Precinct 4.. Please help by donating your time and/or monetary support to my campaign. Read more about me here. AWARDS
"I will be Visual to Engage is my slogan because I promise to be "Visual" at every meeting. I will be seen i all videoconference calls as I participant and/or in person. I will be clearly visible, and my voice audible, during the meeting, To "Engage" is a promise because I will be engaging in very meeting by participating in the discussion. I say this because I will be there with other Commissioners as we discuss the Items on the agenda and you will see and hear me interacting during Commissioner's Court. Due to the pandemic in 2020, I can imagine what accomplishments that I may have achieved or community work could have been done as I keep pressing forward for our future.
On March 2, 2021 I became a memeber of the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority Board and I was voted for this position by the current Mayor and the current City Council Representatives for a term until February 23, 2023. My name was submitted by the City Council Representative Joe Moliner to be approved by the City Council, of which I was approved, unanimously.
Currently, I am serving as the Secretary of the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority Board and I am a member of the Finance Committee. This Board is the liaison between the City of El Paso, County of El Paso, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) and governed by the State of Texas for Mobility Authority for most rad projects to the El Paso SunCity bikes program.
